(†) Sheillah Otando

Sheillah was the very first person I asked for a photo for this project People of Cayman. I just learned yesterday (June 14) that she passed away. When I approached her, she was very shy. Sheillah was hesitant at first, but as I went on talking about the goal of this project, she finally said yes. I’m so sorry to hear the news. But she is in a better place now. Rest in peace, Sheillah. It was an honor to hear your story and let this photograph echo your sweet personality.
